Dr. Ozgur Eris is the Chief Scientist for Collaboration and Social Computing at The MITRE Corporation. He conducts applied research in collaboration systems design and evaluation, and also acts as a Principal Systems Engineer.

Prior to joining MITRE, he was a tenured Associate Professor of Design Theory and Methodology at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. He has published on the role of inquiry in design, engineering design thinking and education, and design informatics. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Washington, and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a design concentration from Stanford University.
