FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Ocean Technology Opportunity RoadmapDeadline: August 24. Amount: $150,000. Open solicitation for a technical consultant/project manager to map Massachusetts ocean-climatetech commercialization opportunities and recommend future investments.
  • Social Innovator Accelerator Program – Deadline: August 26. The Social Innovator Accelerator works to create a community inclusive of nonprofit and philanthropic leaders, and other change agents seeking to build a more equitable nonprofit sector in the region. The Accelerator program provides participating nonprofit organizations (Social Innovators) with support and resources to deepen and expand their work and impact in Eastern Massachusetts. This two-year program offers in-depth consulting, executive coaching, presentation advising, access to unrestricted grants, and more. These offerings will help them raise their organization’s visibility, expand their networks, and connect with philanthropic and in-kind resources in order to increase and deepen the impact of their work.
  • Request for Qualifications: Technical Assistance for Green School Works— Deadline: August 26. This program seeks qualifications for providing technical assistance in green school projects.
  • MASS Timber AssemblyDeadline: August 28. Amount: $40,000 per project team plus technical assistance. Twelve-month cohort offering grant funding, technical analysis, expert support, peer learning, and workshops for Massachusetts mass-timber building projects.
  • The Carbon to Value Initiative (C2V) – Deadline: August 28. Startups selected to participate in the program will have the opportunity to engage with the CLC, an invitation-only group of executive leaders across diverse industry sectors driving the future of carbontech. Startups will gain market insights and explore collaboration opportunities with CLC members to unlock this trillion-dollar market. Specifically, startups will have the opportunity to hear firsthand from CLC members about their carbontech strategies, present to them directly, and benefit from expert advice and industry knowledge from within the participating corporations. Cohort startups will also gain access to the C2V Initiative’s extended network of startup alumni, investors, government funders, and ecosystem supporters, allowing them to overcome their specific barriers and significantly raise their visibility profile in the carbon-management industry.
  • A Real Estate Accelerator (AREA) – Fall cohortDeadline: August 31. Amount: $30,000 seed funding. Three-month New York City venture accelerator providing seed funding, office space, curriculum, mentorship, peer support, alumni access and customer introductions.
  • The Center for Inclusive Growth’s New Haven Opportunity and Capacity Building Acceleration Project (NOCAP) – Deadline: August 31. This program provides promising small- to mid-sized New Haven businesses low- to no-cost back-office and operational support to overcome common barriers to scaling their businesses. For four months, they receive expert and capacity-strengthening support, as well as other learning opportunities. Over the course of participation in NOCAP, each business develops systems and the skills and knowledge to use them, helping them to scale their businesses with confidence.
  • Climatetech Testing & Demonstration Assets ProgramDeadline: Concept paper: 2026-09-04; invited full application: 2026-11-13. Amount: $1 million–$5 million. Capital grants to build shared equipment, facilities, and testing environments for climatetech companies at TRL 5 or higher.
  • Escape Velocity – Deadline: September 4. Are you building the next generation of hardware, advanced manufacturing, AI, health tech, supply chain, or other high-growth technologies? Escape Velocity is now accepting applications for their next founder cohort. Selected startups receive access to mentorship, commercialization support, strategic industry connections, and potential funding designed to help accelerate growth. If you’re an early-stage founder looking to scale, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
  • FORGE Product Development GrantDeadline: September 14. FORGE is accepting applications for a new Product Development Grant supported by the Eastern Bank Foundation, with awards ranging from $3,000 to $50,000. The grant is designed to help startups and existing businesses with underrepresented leadership overcome a specific product development or manufacturing challenge, including prototyping, testing, regulatory, production, or commercialization needs.
  • Grants for Enhancing Massachusetts Grid Resilience & ReliabilityDeadline: September 21. Subawards for projects that enhance electric-grid resilience and reliability, with emphasis on microgrid-enabling projects serving critical facilities.
  • FORGE Product Development Grant for Startups and Existing Businesses with Underrepresented Leadership – Deadline: September 24. This funding opportunity is designed to support hardtech startups and existing businesses as they navigate the challenges of developing and commercializing physical products and growing their organizations. Intended to help companies overcome the “Hardware Valley of Death,” this grant provides critical non-dilutive funding to address product development and manufacturing challenges that often present barriers to growth. This opportunity is for underrepresented businesses in Massachusetts or select regions of New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
  • VentureWell’s E-Team Program– Deadline: September 29. The E-Team Program offers an enriching combination of grant funding, hands-on learning experience, and mentorship that transforms student inventors into entrepreneurs. Teams can receive up to $25,000 to advance their innovation.
  • Renaissance Philanthropy’s Fund Ecosystem Program – Deadline: September 30. The program is soliciting grants proposals for up to $20,000 to support short landscape analyses of why valuable scientific progress and innovations fail to reach the world in specific domains, and what someone could do about it.
  • MassCEC Catalyst/Academic Activator Grant Program – Deadline: September 30. This program provides grants of up to $75,000 to researchers and early-stage companies looking to demonstrate initial prototypes of their clean energy technologies. Co-administered by MassVentures.
  • Go Make 2027: Advanced Carbon Materials with ExxonMobil– Deadline October 9. Greentown Labs is seeking applications from startups (TRL 3–7) developing novel carbon-based technologies. They are looking for material, property, or performance innovations that demonstrate clear pathways to industrial-scale deployment and commercialization. In conjunction with ExxonMobil, the Go Make 2027: Advanced Carbon Materials program aims to accelerate collaboration between innovative founders and ExxonMobil, leveraging carbon’s unique properties to deliver durable, high-performance, and scalable solutions aligned with the company’s energy, industrial, and materials businesses.
  • SXSW Pitch– Deadline: November 13. SXSW Pitch is a premier startup showcase spotlighting the most ambitious entrepreneurs and disruptive technologies from around the world. Now in its 19th year, this dynamic event invites startups to apply through an open call process for a chance to be featured as a finalist. SXSW Pitch highlights startups across selected categories, presenting them to a panel of industry experts, early adopters, and investors.
  • Climatetech Testing & Demonstration Assets (TDA) Program— Deadline: November 13. Amount: $1M – $5M. This program supports testing and demonstration of climate technologies with significant funding available for applicants.
  • EForAll Business Accelerator – Trimester 1 2027Deadline: December 9. Applications opened August 7, 2026. The cohort is announced the week of December 14, followed by intensive business training January 11-March 26, 2027, final presentations the week of March 29, and a showcase the week of April 5.
  • Catalyst and DICES – Fall 2026 RoundDeadline: Rolling. Amount: Up to $75,000. Prototype-development grants and mentoring for research-stage climate technologies. The authoritative page says the application window is reopening in August 2026 but had not posted the new deadline at check time.
  • Clean Energy Internship Program for EmployersDeadline: Rolling. Amount: $4,320 per intern for fall or spring; $8,640 for summer or construction/installation/maintenance placements. Employer funding for paid clean-energy internships; the Fall 2026 session uses MassCEC’s new internship portal.
  • TiE ScaleUp Cohort 12Deadline: Rolling. Amount: Equity-free; $1,995 administrative fee. Six-month hybrid accelerator with curated mentorship, weekly workshops, founder roundtables, pitch reviews, networking and an investor showcase. The current site states Cohort 12 applications are open.
  • 2030 FundDeadline: Rolling. Amount: Typically $100,000–$600,000 per investment; up to $1.5 million cumulative. Early-stage, state-backed climatetech investment program using SAFEs, convertible notes, equity, and venture debt; applications are considered continuously.
  • BETA: Project PlanningDeadline: Rolling. Amount: No-cost building audit and electrification/decarbonization plan. Pilot providing in-depth audits, financing direction, and implementation planning for commercial-building electrification and decarbonization.
  • Mass Fleet AdvisorDeadline: Rolling. Amount: No-cost fleet electrification planning. One-on-one fleet assessment and electrification planning, including site, total-cost, vehicle-market, charging, and next-step analysis.
  • MassVentures Venture FundDeadline: Rolling. Catalytic seed investment and support for deep-tech companies enabled by university and hospital research; applications are reviewed continuously.
  • School Bus Advisory Services ProgramDeadline: Rolling. Amount: No-cost fleet electrification planning. Free technical assistance and a fleet-electrification plan covering vehicle, charging, cost, procurement, and implementation analysis.
  • Green School Works Technical Assistance Services — Deadline: Rolling enrollment. Amount: Technical assistance worth up to $250,000. Low- or no-cost decarbonization planning through comprehensive building assessments, portfolio roadmaps, or focused studies.
  • Heat Pump and HVAC Training Network – Strand BDeadline: Rolling through 2027-05-15 11:59 PM ET. Amount: Up to $1,200,000. Implementation and equipment grants to establish or expand heat-pump and HVAC technician training centers and career pathways.
