The Massachusetts Next Generation (MassNextGen) Initiative is building off the success of its first five years with a new iteration to support a larger pool of entrepreneurs with a broad, more inclusive focus. Awardees of the program will receive a year-long customized package of support, which includes non-dilutive grant funding and access to a network of seasoned professionals from the life sciences ecosystem helping them to refine their business strategies and effectively raise capital. In addition, awardees will highlight their company to sponsors, awardees, and representatives of venture capital firms at the end of the program year in a “pitch” event. Applications are due June 14. BOOST is an intensive 8 week program designed to ignite growth and equip pioneering built world startups with the right tools to transform the industry. Applicants should be working on a built world technology, such as a tool for architects, construction managers, property managers, and anyone else who designs, builds, or maintains buildings. The Climatetech Studio matches teams of entrepreneurs with cutting-edge technologies from federal and university labs during an intensive 16-week program cohort. Entrepreneurs will work closely with expert coaches and advisors to assess the potential of their technologies and form strategies for successful commercialization. Each participant will receive a $15,000 stipend and have the chance to win further prize money and grant funding. The Biz-M-Power crowdfunding matching grant program offers small businesses in Massachusetts financial assistance with their acquisition, expansion, improvement or lease of a facility, purchase or capital lease of equipment, or with meeting other capital needs for the business. Eligible applicants will be empowered to advance their business with an innovative approach to obtaining capital. Through crowdfunding campaigns, these businesses connect with their local residents and stakeholders to advance projects that support economic success and transformation for their business and in their communities.
