Tweet about this product: @GuardionTech is changing how we detect threats and monitor industrial processes with the power of 2D materials. #nanotechnology #industrial #Science http://guardiontech.com

Guardion was formed to make a safer and healthier world using nanotechnology. Our approach is revolutionizing a core analytical process that enables mass spectrometers, ion mobility spectrometers, vacuum sensors, X-ray imaging, and radiation sensors for Homeland Security.

Ion sensors are critical for these instruments to work but detectors have not changed in decades. They are bulky, require high-voltage, and have operational limitations. Guardion’s 2D material ion detectors operate in air and ultra-high vacuum, are ultra-low power, semiconductor processable, and offer orders of magnitude of improvement in sensitivity. Guardion’s first product focus is a single vacuum gauge to cover from atmosphere to UHV – replacing 3 gauges with a single device in this $450M market.

Guardion is a spin out of Northeastern University founded by a Mechanical Engineering alumnus, Daniel Esposito, and two professors, Swastik Kar (Physics) and Yung Joon Jung (ME). Guardion is located at the Kostas Research Institute of Homeland Security.

Guardion is a Gold Prize winner at the MassChallenge Global Business Accelerator Competition a member of the US Air Force Sponsored Techstars Autonomous Technology Accelerator, has SBIR Grants with the US Air Force, NASA, and the National Science Foundation, and is a winner of the Boeing/CASIS Technology in Space Prize and will be conducting research on the International Space Station.
