Every Mass Innovation Nights is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other members of our community.  Connecting job seekers and those looking to hire is one of our favorite uses for networking.  We also hand out little red stickers for the name badges of those looking to hire at every event.  We’ve noticed those stickers getting more and more popular at the recent events.
With that in mind, we want to test out a new service at our next live event for Mass Innovation Nights #40: Rapid Fire Job Opportunities.  We saw this in action in Boulder when we were there last month for the Startup America Summit.  It was a feature of the Boulder New Tech Meetup.  It was very simple:  anyone hiring was allowed to advertise their job opening during the presentation portion of the evening.  The whole thing took less than 3 minutes and was highly entertaining as well as hiring managers popped up and down like jack rabbits.  Each prospective hirer raises his or her hand, gets called upon, stands up and says:
“Hi, my name is “Joe/Jane” and I work for “Stealthy Company X”, that does “Y.”  We need to hire a Drupal Programmer.”
All the hirers are invited to send/tweet us a link to their job listing which we will include in our blog after the event, or prospective job seekers can find the appropriate person at the event.
What do you think?
