Anne-Marie Dinius

Anne-Marie Dinius is a registered patent attorney with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering. Her practice focuses on intellectual property litigation as well as obtaining patent, trademark and copyright protection. She has successfully litigated cases to a final jury verdict or reached settlement along the way on behalf of patent, copyright and trademark holders. Her clients have ranged from large Fortune 100 technology companies to solo inventors. Anne-Marie has filed hundreds of patent, trademark, and copyright applications. Her breadth of experience with intellectual property, ranging from strategically building IP portfolios, instituting anti-counterfeiting programs, drafting patent applications, and enforcing IP rights in court gives Anne-Marie a unique perspective on how to protect your intellectual property. In addition, Anne-Marie has served as an expert witness on issues of patentability in the California courts. Her technical areas of expertise include: cell phone technology, mobile devices, cellular networks, GPS, software as a service, cloud computing, antennas, medical devices, sports performance equipment, miniaturized tools, video games, speech recognition, video streaming, encryption, and green technologies. Prior to joining West Hill, Anne-Marie worked at large firms on the east and west coasts – DLA Piper (San Francisco), Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe (Silicon Valley), Choate, Hall & Stewart (Boston) and Cooley Godward (San Diego). Anne-Marie also worked as in-house counsel at Sony Computer Entertainment America, maker of the Sony PlayStation, and in technology transfer at Northeastern University. Before going to law school, Anne-Marie was an electrical engineer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lincoln Laboratory where she specialized in the design and analysis of GPS antennas, airborne radar systems, and computer software. Anne-Marie earned her Juris Doctorate and her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. She is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as in the State of California. Additionally, she is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
