Project Entrepreneur, a program by UBS, aims to level the playing field for female founders of color by providing these founders with the resources and support they need to build and scale their companies. The Democratizing the Friends & Family Round program, in partnership with Hello Alice, will award $25,000 grants as well as access to virtual coaching and skill-building opportunities to 30 female founders of color who are leading high-growth companies. Activate empowers scientists to reinvent the world by bringing their research to market. The two-year Activate Fellowship provides the most promising science entrepreneurs the funding, technical support, networking, community, and time they need at the outset of their entrepreneurial journey. And Activate does not take a stake in their startups. Activate Fellows receive: A yearly living stipend of $80,000 to $110,000 plus a health insurance stipend and travel allowance. Each project also receives $100,000 of research support at the host laboratory; Access to world-class research facilities in Berkeley, CA and Boston, MA; A program of intensive entrepreneurial training, mentorship, and networking. The Massachusetts Export Center’s Export Expo on January 27-28, 2022 provides a forum for exporters to connect with the wide range of export resources available in Massachusetts while learning about issues that impact their day-to-day operations. This year’s Export Expo will again be a virtual event that will include an exhibit area featuring government, non-profit and private sector service providers serving the export community. The NAACP Power Forward Small Business Grant is available for Black-owned businesses with one to 25 employees located in New England (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and select areas of Connecticut (more details in the application). $25,000 in grants are available on a rolling basis. Eligible Massachusetts businesses of any size may apply for training grants through the Workforce Training Fund’s Express Program. The Seed Investments Program is a two-stage investment program that provides up to $250,000 in convertible notes to pre-seed or seed-stage clean energy startups.
