Imagine a science class coming alive with regular visits from young researchers who could explain how classroom concepts were related to their cutting-edge scientific research. With that vision in mind, SciLinkR.com was created as a place online where educators and scientists can connect nationally and learn what works and doesn’t in outreach.

Thanks to generous support from the National Science Foundation, SciLinkR.com has been able to develop and launch their site, but the long-term goal is to increase all students’ access — regardless of how far they live from a college or university — to inspiring scientists and their research. For scientists and engineers, SciLinkR documents science outreach and produces an open-access document with a citable DOI, something that can be included in annual reports, CV/resumes, and tenure/promotion documents.
