More than 700 cyclists die annually in the US in car accidents and about 50,000 get injured. “Right turns” and “Dooring” are the most prevalent case scenarios of vehicle-bike accidents.
Bike Beacon is a communication app on cyclist/driver smartphones specifically targeting “Right turns” and “Dooring”. Driver (and cyclist) receives effective prompts regarding cyclist on the road.
Fleets, insurance companies and auto manufacturers are potential customers. We will start in Boston area giving the free app to the cyclists and looking for partnership with Uber, Waze, Zipcar or MBTA.
