Rachel Nicoll is Bostonian by birth, though her ‘native’ status is waylaid by a few other states, primarily California. While studying animation in film school at UCLA, she got an internship at newly formed Sony Pictures Imageworks and was hired later that year. After a 20 year career in the visual effects industry, which took her from California to New Mexico and then to Florida, she opted to relocate to the Boston area to be closer to family. Rachel joined the MassTLC Education Foundation to utilize her experience as a community organizer, department leader, project manager, keynote speaker and university adjunct professor to address issues of education and parity across a variety of tech industries.
