MassCEC's Catalyst Program provides grants of up to $65,000 to researchers and early-stage companies looking to demonstrate initial prototypes of their clean energy technologies. Proposals are due October 19. More information here.

Hot Bread Kitchen’s Food Entrepreneurship Forum October 20-22 is a 3-day virtual event for anyone invested in rebuilding a more equitable and inclusive small business community—from owners to buyers, customers to employees, aspiring entrepreneurs to folks who want to see their beloved local businesses thrive. The Forum will feature educational panels, workshops, pitching opportunities, and cooking classes—all with a focus on uplifting Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and working to ensure every entrepreneur has the opportunity to thrive. The EforAll Accelerator Program is a free, one-year program offered twice a year in each of their communities. This program offers a unique combination of immersive business training, mentorship and access to an extended professional network. Anyone with a dream to start or grow a business or nonprofit is encouraged to apply.

MassCEC’s Triple Decker Design Challenge is soliciting proposals from design/build firms, architects, and other qualified applicants to identify replicable and scalable all-electric triple-decker energy retrofit approaches.The program seeks to set a new and scalable standard for transitioning these iconic New England dwellings into high-performing, low-carbon buildings. Proposals are due November 6. More information here.

During times of crisis, entrepreneurs are needed more than ever. The new Techstars Startup Weekend Silicon Valley Womxn Online on November 13-15 lets you continue building your entrepreneurial community in a safe, innovative environment during the COVID-19 pandemic and safety restrictions. Like the traditional, in-person Techstars Startup Weekend (TSW), the 54-hour online event is designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. During the event attendees pitch ideas, form teams and start companies. Eligible Massachusetts businesses of any size may apply for training grants through the Workforce Training Fund’s Express Program. The Express Program offers cash grants to businesses to cover up to 50% of the cost of training employees, up to $3,000 per employee per course. Additional limitations apply. More information here.

BBB Serving E. MA, ME, RI & VT is proud to launch Main St. Matters, a program that will offer emergency grants (does not need to be paid back) in the form of a $1,000 grant award for small businesses (1-20 employees) who have been financially impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic. These businesses must be located in Braintree, Holbrook, Quincy, Randolph, or Stoughton, MA. More information here.
