Mr. Hoag is the Associate General Counsel and Chief Privacy Official (CPO) of The MITRE Corporation. Mr. Hoag manages MITRE’s regional legal office operations, supervises MITRE’s corporate insurance portfolio, and leads MITRE’s privacy program. Mr. Hoag has over twenty years of legal expertise in intellectual property law, software/cloud licensing matters, cyber-security law, international legal issues, national security law, not-for-profit law, corporate governance, privacy law, commercial and government contracts, benefits, taxes, real estate, litigation, and project development.

Mr. Hoag has held senior level legal positions within global technology and engineering companies, including prior law firm and federal judicial clerkship experience. Mr. Hoag has extensive legal knowledge in matters relevant to Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs). Mr. Hoag holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & International Studies from the University of Notre Dame with a minor in physics. Mr. Hoag received his Juris Doctorate degree from the George Washington University Law School and completed an executive management curriculum at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Dupree College of Management. Mr. Hoag has accreditations from and affiliations with the Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC), the Massachusetts High Technology Council (MHTC), the International Technology Law Association (ITLA), the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the New England Corporate Counsel Association (NECCA), the American Bar Association (ABA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE), and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Mr. Hoag is admitted as a practicing attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States District Court in Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
