Event showcasing new, innovative products from Massachusetts-based companies
Lowell, MA and Woburn, MA (March 26, 2012) - Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 from 6:00-8:30 p.m., Appleton Mills in Lowell will be hosting Mass Innovation Nights, one of a series of grassroots events designed to leverage the local social media community. Every month the event showcases a wide range of new and innovative products from local companies. Mass Innovation Nights is marking its third anniversary and the first event in the Merrimack Valley.
Products this month include staffing software, augmented reality, handcrafted jewelry, a rolling fashion boutique, a disposable web browser, a relaxing environment to stimulate the senses, organic pest control, competitive entertainment shopping, an interactive tour of Lawrence, and tavern style rum.
“We’re looking forward to an event that includes products from several local companies and a chance to bring the innovation community together in the City of Lowell,” said Theresa Park, the City’s Director of Economic Development. “We’re partnering with the Merrimack Valley Sandbox and Comcast to bring this important and dynamic event to the Merrimack Valley region and spur further innovation and entrepreneurship.”
"The Lowell-Lawrence area is chock-full of innovative and entrepreneurial thinking - we're expecting an exciting evening full of creative and interesting ideas!" said David Parker, director of Entrepreneur Development at the Merrimack Valley Sandbox, a sponsor of the event.
“Mass Innovation Nights events are not just showcasing the best of local innovation, they also provide a valuable networking opportunity for anyone in the local business community,” said Bobbie Carlton, co-founder of Massachusetts Innovation Nights.
Mass Innovation Nights events are free but attendees are asked to “tell” someone else, either through a blog post, a tweet, a Facebook “Like” or simply by talking with a friend. A single event generates hundreds of tweets, blog posts, status updates, online video and pictures. Prior to the event, guests are asked to vote for their favorite products and the top four choices do 5 minute presentations at the event.
