While the Bruins were breaking our hearts, we were having a good time visiting Progress Software and launching cool new local products! We kicked off a new feature -- introducing a Student Startup Spotlight to showcase student startups from local colleges. This month we had two startups, Simply Stored and Gentoo, from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
The 5th anniversary of Mass Innovation nights was a blast! Our 61st event launched 10 great products with the help of an energetic crowd in Lowell, Mass. The Merrimack Valley Sandbox graciously offered their space to us as we munched on delicious egg rolls and created buzz around the new ideas happening there. We also found out that @BobbieC cuts a mean celebratory cake!

Learn about what’s happening in Lowell
Lowell, Mass. is a vibrant and growing community, with a GREAT innovation scene! It’s worth a trip just to connect with the Merrimack Valley Sandbox - but that’s definitely not all that’s happening in this up-and-coming city. It’s got arts, food, tech, and plenty of entrepreneurs and early adopters to spice up our monthly MIN event.
Meet new people in the community
The Microsoft New England Research and Development (NERD) Center hosted our 60th event and a terrific group of our community came out to help lanch 10 great new products! In spite of rain, and a threat of overnight snow and freezing weather, we had a packed house. We collected our tweets here and the videos here. Can you find yourself? Share your posts about the event and we'll link to you!

Sponsored by our friends from the North, the Canadian Consulate General, and hosted at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, our sixth special Foodie event was a smashing success -- more elegant than a Mass Innovation Nights had any right to be. With expectations high (yes, we did have to shut down RSVPs early after we exceeded our space limitations), we knew it was going to be a winner of a night. Words can not describe...

Our team kicked off the new year with a truly awesome event at Progress Software in Bedford. These people know how to throw a product launch party! And, we'll be returning later on this year (May) so if you missed this event, you'll get a second chance!
You've seen them everywhere. Those little (usually) black and white squares are popping up all over town. On business cards and brochures, in restaurant windows or on real estate signs, even on billboards and the sides of trucks. The QR or Quick Response code has become the darling of the social media marketing set. How do they work? Why do you care?
Another great Mass Innovation NIghts event! We'll be collecting the blog posts, top tweets, pictures, video and more here. Remember, when you promote the new products you saw last night, we all win! (And, we link to you!)
Thanks to everyone who helped make it another great night! Watch this space! You can also check out the monthly presenter videos on our Innovation Nights YouTube Channel.
At first people thought we were going to be like Web Innovators group, then they came to our first event and saw the Practical Solar heliostats and the Wiblocks. Our roster of “NOT just Web, software and high tech” products came to include such “real products” as Popkin ice pop drip catchers, gourmet dog food (and people food), books, a back stretcher, lampshade levelers, mouse cushions and even post vasectomy testing kits. (Cue the giggles.) Yes, we showcase an abundance of technology innovation but we’re the only Innovation Showcase in the area that regularly mixes industries and welcom
If there's one thing all innovators instinctively know, it is how to make use of any offered aid and assistance. Sometimes, that aid comes in the form of young, energetic types. Students are looking for experience to round out their resumes and entrepreneurs could certainly use an extra pair of hands around the office -- even if it is a virtual office. The most precious commodity for most people these days is time and if a young person can buy you some time, why wouldn't you take advantage of that offer?
