The featured MINovator series continues, and this time the spotlight is shinning on Kari Heistad and her team! They first showcased Diversity Dashboard at MIN 101 in August 2017. Because of COVID-19, there aren’t a whole lot of activities happening for them to track with their software, so Kari and her team have been focusing on providing resources to the community in this difficult time.
It was August 2013 that I got my first taste of black salsa from Villa Mexico Cafe at MIN 53 in Woburn at MINFoodie #5. OMG. I like my Mexican food and have tried lots of it (ask me about my fish taco obsession) but this was so outrageously good - I went home with a jar that night. Whenever I hit the Financial District in Boston for meetings I'd stop in for a hit. And yes, I know I can order it online.
This week's Featured MINovator is MasksOn and Sanjay Vakil. Sanjay was a product showcaser at our very first Mass Innovation Nights, all the way back in April 2009. His newest project, MasksOn.org, is a non-profit working to build and send protective gear to healthcare clinicians. MasksOn.org provides emergency face Mask Kits free-of-charge to clinicians who do not have access to FDA approved PPE. They are currently raising funds in order to provide this equipment for free.
The Mass Innovation Nights community is just that - a community. And there are all kinds of awesome people in our community. As we all struggle with our new COVID-19 shaped reality there are some people and organizations we want to call your attention to. Maybe we can ignite enough interest in their products and services to help support them in this weirdest of times. We're calling this series The Featured MINovators.
Over the past 11 years, Mass Innovation Nights has helped to launch more than 1500 new products that have received more than $4B in collective funding, all on a shoestring budget. The tactics and techniques we use (and those used by our partners and exhibitors) can be used by anyone. During this COVID-19 crisis, it is the perfect time to host the first ever Mass Innovation Nights webinar series. We're keeping up the tradition of helping local entrepreneurs and boosting the local economy for the benefit of all.
